latent Present or existing, but in an underdeveloped or unexpressed form.
lesser prophets In the Bahá’í Writings, those figures who expanded and developed the work of the “primary Authors” of an independent religious dispensation. A figure such as Isaiah in the Old Testament is considered a “lesser prophet”.
literalistic Following the literal meaning or a word or phrase, without further elaboration or interpretation, or an awareness of the imaginative power of something.
litmus test A test in which a single factor determines the outcome.
